Join Monash Law and the Australian Association of Constitutional Law for a special forum to explore relationships between the Australian Constitution and Voice, Treaty and Truth.

Dr Shireen Morris will discuss her recent book A First Nations Voice in the Australian Constitution (Hart, 2020) and Dr Harry Hobbs will discuss his recent book Indigenous Aspirations and Structural Reform in Australia (Hart, 2021). They will be joined by Wamba Wamba First Nations law academic Eddie Synot who will offer his reflections on these books and the importance and future of Voice, Treaty, Truth. The event will be chaired by Monash Law's Associate Professor Luke Beck.

Dr Shireen Morris (@ShireenMorrisMs)

Dr Shireen Morris is a constitutional lawyer specialising in constitutional reform and Indigenous constitutional recognition through a First Nations voice, as well as public law more generally. She is a Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University and an adviser to Cape York Institute.

Dr Harry Hobbs (@HarryHobbsUTS)

Dr Harry Hobbs is a constitutional and human rights lawyer working at the forefront of academic research and legal and political debate about Indigenous-State treaty making. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University Technology, Sydney.

Eddie Synot (@EddieSynot)

Eddie Synot is a Wamba Wamba First Nations academic who writes about Indigenous experience at the intersections of law, culture and society. He is with the Griffith Law School and the Indigenous Law Centre UNSW.Event Partners
